Astros Farm Report: 9/9

So this happened ...

After losing Game 1 of the Division Quarterfinal, the River Bandits came back to win Game 2 and 3 and will advance to the Division Championship. They will face the Twins affiliate Cedar Rapid Kernels in a best-of-three series.

Quad Cities struck early and often and was leading Peoria 8-0 after four innings. Back-to-back home runs from Josh Rojas and Abraham Toro got the party started in the second to give the Bandits a 3-0 lead and a Colin Moran RBI single later in the inning made it 4-0. Three walks and two singles in the third resulted in three additional runs and a Chuckie Robinson home run in the fourth made it 8-0.

Quad Cities starter Patrick Sandoval was dealing; he allowed his first hit (a solo home run) after 4.1 innings. Sandoval pitched 6.2 innings and allowed three hits, two runs (one was an inherited runner charged to him), three walks and struck out six for the win. Lucas Williams and Robert Corniel shared the duties the rest of the way with Corniel earning the save.
